Mihingo Safari lodge
Mihingo Lodge is a peaceful and exclusive retreat adjacent to Lake Mburo National Park. It has ten rooms which are built on wooden platforms with stilts, protected by a thatched roof. Suspended under the thatched roof is a spacious and comfortable tent equipped with en-suite bathrooms with stunning views, including hot and cold running water, showers, and flush loos.
Each luxury tented room is nestled on a private piece of the lodge’s property, enabling guests to enjoy the tranquil environment in complete seclusion. Placed in varied settings, some rooms are situated in a forest, some with a lake view, and some on rocky outcrops.
The dining area is large and thatched built of rocks. Below the dining area, an infinity swimming pool stretches out from the rocks and seems to disappear into the vast landscape beyond.
Rwakobo Lodge
Built on a massive granite outcrop, next to Lake Mburo Nationa Park, the accommodation at Rwakobo is a variety of thatched cottages, with solar lights, flush toilets, solar heated showers and filtered drinking water, which blend into the natural landscape. The rooms are dotted around the hill taking advantage of rocky ledges and private corners.
The cottages celebrate the natural lines of the surrounding wilderness. They also provide guests with real comfort and luxury that doesn’t cost the earth. Environmentally-friendly technologies are applied such as rain water catchment, solar power, solar water heaters and solar refrigeration to ensure responsible tourism. Charging facilities and slow wi-fi are available at the main area.
Rwonyo Rest Camp
This accommodation is operated by Uganda Wildlife Authority. There are tents bandas /cabins. Here you can experience a tented camp without the added price. There is a choice of restaurants available at Arcadia Cottages or the basic lakeside restaurant. This is a perfect choice for budget travellers. Tents are highly competed for and should be booked well in advance.
Eagles nest Camp
Accommodation with a view! Located on a high hill bordering Lake Mburo National Park, this tented camp has not only one of the best views in Uganda, it is also the ultimate African canvas experience.
Every safari tent has its own veranda, overlooking the park. The bathrooms are real bush-experiences: we fill the shower upon your request and the toilet is a new eco-friendly invention. For dinner we prepare a woodfire and use the big African potjies. The real Africa feeling!
